This is a drawing that I drew recently and The New Yorker almost bought… but alas, did not. I like it because it’s how I feel daily. There is an urgent need to talk about what’s going on, yet also a need to play ball. Because if we talk about it incessently, we lose steam and we lose our minds. It’s important to take care of ourselves because while I can dream that the Trump administration will self-implode and we can put him and Musk and Vance in jail, I don’t think that’s going to happen any time soon (if ever).
That’s what I hope this spot is for you, a place where you are aware that I am keeping tabs on the news and share what I find is important, but also I am ready to share distractions from time to time. And I love that this has become a place for you all to talk with each other, and I try to chime in to your converstations when I can.
I’m taking a rest today and will return to politics tomorrow. It’s really quite distressing, but I have hope. I also have hope that you are having a good weekend.
We need to do a zoom sometime soon, I will work on that! Thanks for being here.
Perfectly timed. Appreciate you. In my mind, I'll be playing ball ⚽ 🐕🤗🥰❤️
I love love love that cartoon because, as you said, it says what we feel...all of us. We need to keep informed, but we need to exhale as well. That's why the dog and the ball are so spot on. That's their loss, and our gain...though you could sell it and put it on here as well. We feel your ennui. It's kind of like a thin film over the day that could be brilliant with sunshine. Rest. We need you.
