Politics are very much on my mind, but I have to say I was happily distracted by spending time today speaking with some incredibly talented New Yorker cartoonists for my documentary, Women Laughing. It’s about women cartoonists of The New Yorker, past and present. I am beyond tired, so will share some photos and a video from today’s shoot.
At the end of each discussion with cartoonists, I draw them on my iPad, see video below. Today, I talked and drew with the wonderful Liana Finck and Sarah Akinterinwa.
Our great crew in action!
Finally left the wonderful Society of Illustrators, who gracioulsy allowed us to film the interviews, at 7:30 pm. Long day! But so much fun to talk with these women.
Thanks for being here, see you tomorrow!
Incredibly proud of every amazing, astonishing and gifted one of you!
Cartoonists have a keen sense of the humor dormant is everyday situations. One thing that strikes me as being funny is Donald Trump. He claims he won the 2020 election. If so, then he can't be running again because he's already been president twice. Of course his logic isn't funny and he doesn't have a sense of humor. More like a sense of horror.
