I rarely write captions verbatim, things that I hear word-for-word in real life. Most of us reshape the captions, make the words better or funnier. But this one above was something I said to my husband the other day. He and I are constantly sharing the news, alerting one or the other of updates to breaking news. So….I said that in a moment of overload.
It’s so hard consuming all this bad news.
I’m on the train listening to the roll call vote for the election of Speaker of the House. It is beyond my comprehension that anyone would vote for Jim Jordan. If he wins, it is a sign that the far right contingient has really taken over the GOP. Talk about agitation!
Here is a silly drawing to take your mind of politics.
Thanks for being here, have a good Tuesday!
Thanks for two wonderful relationship captions. I'm fortunate to have both spouse and family who share my views, but, even so, that first caption gets used. My daughter runs a fiber art retreat center. On the front door it says, "No politics!" Today I am visiting there in a group of 10 quilters. All of them would love your cartoons, thank goodness!🤗.
Laughing in chilly Vermont. Your cactus cartoon, in particular, captures so much of our lives and relationships. Your art and caring heart reach north. Maple's leaves are down and shelter the soil. Geese fly; chickadees will soon dance for seeds. But we will wait for the bears to sleep first--otherwise they will scramble up the trees and snatch the feeders. Mother Earth (and your art) steady us humans as we struggle to build communities woven of kindness and peace. Thnx Liza!
Jordan????; he will be replaced by another angry, hateful clown soon enough. Blessings to the Congressional members of Congress of color( and whites) who remain and fight "good fights" as John Lewis would remind us. Mutual aid for all and struggle for justice. Build community. Remember Rosa Park (and Rosa Luxembourg!)
