Two nights in a row now, I’ve dreamt about the Presidential election. The first one was set as election night proceeded, and we all realized that Biden would win in a landslide. I was so so happy that Trump would be trounced— and better yet, gone. Last night I dreamt that I met Biden at a rally and thought I really should do more to show my support of all the great things he’s doing. I even said to myself, “I’ve got to get a Biden/Harris button!” (I have one from last time). I guess I am really internalizing this election. As I should! I believe if Donald Trump wins, we will be at risk of losing our Democracy.
Did you read what Nikky Haley did? She made a complete blunder in her answer to what was a very basic question at a town hall. The questioner asked her what she thought the Civil War was about; in her answer, she did not mention slavery. This horrible response shows her lack of depth and— in my mind—humanity. It was a squirmy poltical answer to a question that at its core demanded humanity. This may hurt her chances. I had wondered if she might be the moderate Republican to break the Trump spell, but I don’t know now if her candidacy will survive.
In the light of day, my dream makes me wonder what I can do. I think Biden is doing such a great job, I get very angry at Democrats who criticize him at this point in time. Of course all officials should be kept in check, need to be criticized, but we need to defeat Trump at all costs. Biden can do it if Dems rally behind him. Stop talking about his age, and focus on all the good things he’s done in the short time he’s had. If, sadly, he dies in his second term, Kamala Harris is a fantastic public figure and will do GREAT. What is everyone whining about?
Here is a drawing that might make you smile.
Thanks for being here, see you tomorrow!
I’m with you 100%, Liza. Biden’s media operation, and that of the Democratic Party, are just terrible. They must replace it, top to bottom. It really is game over if Trump wins again. My only disagreement with you is about Niki Haley. of course, her answer to the Civil War question was deplorable. But she tried in a clumsy way to walk it back today and, in today’s Republican party I’m not sure it will be fatal, or even seriously damaging to her campaign.
I'm with you, too. 100%
