A cartoon for you today. This was drawn a number of years ago when I began to really fully realize that every single person can make a difference.
I am off to a fundraising event for my documentary about women cartoonists who are changing the world—breaking all kinds of glass ceilings—one laugh at a time.
Breaking stereotypes, traditions that are hurtful, taboos, you name it.
See you tomorrow! Thanks as always for being here!!
(more about the doc, Women Laughing, is here.)
I’m sorry that Pam Bondi and Christe N. broke the glass ceiling. They set women back by their bad actions.
Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh boy. I had never heard/seen your TED talk, and just did. What a joyful, engaging, smart vision of why Humor, with a capital "H" is so important....especially for women. I think we feel more intensely and tend to analyze and do deeper dives into things than our male counterparts, (not male bashing, just a personal observation) and as such, I think it requires us to come at events through the lens of humor because laughing at the inanities of life (a/la Erma Bombeck) helps us make some iota of sense of it and gets us through it all. Again, concats (stet) for documenting the important role of cartoons.
