A fun post today, politics-free.
Many of you who have been subscribers of Seeing Things for a while are familiar with the cloud-gazing cartoons that I’ve done over the past few years. I draw the same woman lying on the ground, looking up at the sky, gazing at the clouds. Every drawing has something different going on in the sky. Admittedly it’s a device for playing with ideas and, well, daydreaming in a drawing.
Now, you have the opportunity to not just look at my cloud cartoons, but you can eat one.
For the third year in a row, I’m collaborating with my friend Jonathan Doherty, a chocolatier and fellow Earlham College alum, on a collection of his chocolates. These year’s theme—Daydreams—plays off the cloud cartoons of mine I’ve shared here in the past. I drew a new cloud cartoon that will decorate the surface of the chocolates. A piece of the drawing will be on each of the 12 chocolates and when viewed together in the box they will show the whole drawing. Plus, a number of my cloud cartoons will be in a small booklet that accompanies and describes the chocolates.
This is a fun way to communicate with chocolate. And by chocolate, I mean the really good stuff, including ones made with rare heirloom cacao. Plus, ten percent of proceeds go to a charitable organization, yet to be determined (we’ll let you know when we know!). You can preorder them at clandestinechocolates.com and best not to wait, since these are a limited edition and when they’re gone, they’re gone!
See you tomorrow. Thanks for being here, as always!
When the world brings you lemons
or fluffy ORANGE hair,
count on chocolate and donuts!
Do not despair!
I bought these last year and they are not only the cutest things ever - the chocolate is exquisite. Pre-ordered, :-).
