Education On My Mind
I couldn’t decide what to share with you today. I’ve been watching a lot of films made by women about being women, so feminism is on my mind. Kids are so sophisticated now, it’s amazing. I used to teach women’s studies at Vassar College, and probably what I was teaching eight years ago is being taught at some progressive middle schools now.
Speaking of education, did you hear that Govenor DeSantis of Florida has rejected African American Studies in High School? I am outraged. I am sure if Women’s Studies were taught in Florida public schools, he’d be against that, as well. His desire, as is the desire of many in the right wing GOP, is to return to the 1950’s when white men ruled the world.
No way.
