I enjoy walking through farmers markets every now and then. Not so much to buy anything, but to observe. In this day and age, you never know what someone will try to sell you, what new “natural” or “free-range” or “plant-based” thing has been invented.
I happen to think this cartoon might not be too far from reality because my sense is that vacuum cleaners are living things. They more often than not have it in for me and try to kill me. Maybe because none of mine have been free-range, and they are bitter…..
My husband does the vacuuming, he knows how to handle them.
The above was a rejected cartoon, I guess The New Yorker doesn’t know about these deranged cleaners. Or perhaps they think this cartoon is too dark. Or that it’s just not funny, is more like it.
I recently scanned about 10 issues and was struck by how many cartoons had a tone of ‘this world is-a crazy!’ Not the usual NY-chill attitude. If you have anything in that direction!
