Today there were a large number of marches across the US, protesting Trump and his policies. Here is a slide show of some of the gatherings. The next protests nationwide will be on June 14th. For more information, go here.

Mike Waltz is out as national security advisor. He was the one who put The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg on the Signal chat, so it seems he is taking the fall for Pete Hegseth’s major screw-up. Marco Rubio is going to take over Waltz’s duties, along with his job as Secretary of State. Not to be too blunt about it, but Rubio has really been kissing Trump’s feet lately; I guess this is his reward.

In an anouncement today, a fund backed by Abu Dhabi would be making a $2 billion business deal using the Trump firm’s digital coins. The NY Times reports, “That transaction would be a major contribution by a foreign government to President Trump’s private venture — one that stands to generate hundreds of millions of dollars for the Trump family. And it is a public and vivid illustration of the ethical conflicts swirling around Mr. Trump’s crypto firm, which has blurred the boundary between business and government.”

My friend Rick Sloan also wrote about this in his Substack today. He writes that this is an impeachable offense, and implores the Democrats to write up the articles of impeachment. Why not? It is an unprecidented conflict of interest.

Here is some good news: A federal judge in Texas ruled that Trump cannot invoke the Enemy Aliens Act to deport Venezuelan immigrants. “The 36-page ruling by Judge Rodriguez, a President Trump appointee, amounted to a philosophical rejection of the White House’s attempts to transpose the Alien Enemies Act, which was passed in 1798 as the nascent United States was threatened by war with France, into the context of modern-day immigration policy.” Although this ruling only applies to the Venezuelan’s case, “it could have an effect, if not a binding one, on some of the other cases involving the administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act.”

I am still in California, and I must admit it feels strange to be away for so long. But I am enjoying the change of scenery and the work I am doing. Also really enjoy seeing friends and family, it’s always restorative. I and our film team continue work on our documentary, Women Laughing, and we are almost done!
