Right before falling asleep last night, a NYTimes alert came in that told me that the US Supreme Court may vote against Roe V. Wade. It was a leaked draft that showed the vote of the members of the court; Chief Justice Roberts just moments ago stated that what was in the leak is true.
I was a young woman when Roe V Wade was decided in 1973, the year I graduated from high school. I went into adulthood very grateful for the decision and for the feminists activists who had worked so hard during the second wave. I truly believe I was able to live my life as I wanted—in work and my private life—because of the actions of dedicated people.
I really hope we don’t go back.

This possible decision by SCOTUS may change the lives of many women, women who will not have easy access to abortion, but who need it. We may not be able to change what happens with the SCOTUS decision this time, but going forward, we can help make the court more a reflection of the American people (who support upholding Roe v. Wade).
At the very least, we need to VOTE in the next election.
