What a whirlwind 24 hours! Vice President Kamala Harris has been endorsed by all the right Democrats, the big names, and then some. Her potential rivals have endorsed her, as well. All Democratic Party chairs are on board, and it seems that any problems making her the nominee are not materializing. She needs all the delegates to sign on, and about half have already. Now we need some Republicans to endorse her, like Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, George Bush.
Upon accepting the endorsement of Joe Biden, she wrote. “On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country. His remarkable legacy of accomplishment is unmatched in modern American history, surpassing the legacy of many Presidents who have served two terms in office.”
I can say for certain that in my lifetime, I have not known a more compassionate President than Joe Biden. Biden’s international skills are unparalleled, and his concern for working class people is solid. His care for people is immense. I know it comes from deep in his heart.
What I love about Kamala Harris is her brain and her laugh. She is tough and strategic, and so intelligent. But she also loves to laugh.
I remember the first time I saw her wearing chucks, it was wonderful. The drawing at the top of the page was one I did immediately. She has such joy. This one below was drawn right after they were elected in 2020.
The enthusiasm is palpable among so many. I am sure there will be negatives emerging (although I for one don’t know of any about Harris), and the GOP will being attacks on her soon. For now, I am enjoying this surge of excitement and hope.
Our first woman president! I thought Hillary was going to fill that role; I think Kamala will now.
Thanks for being here, see you tomorrow.
I'm so excited. President Biden put the country before himself, which is what great leaders do. The crucial next piece is that we must be unified. I was concerned that there'd be too many contenders fighting for the nomination, but more and more people seem to be coalescing around Vice President Harris, following President Biden's graceful lead. I slept well last night and I can't help but think this news had something to do with it. Hope is powerful.
Liza, please do a Madam President cartoon! (Or whatever you think is best!) I want it on a tshirt! $ for your documentary, positive press for a great outcome. I am not (necessarily) a believer in *manifesting* (we have to actually DO something to make things happen), but LET'S MANIFEST THIS!
