We live in the same town where the County Fair happens every year in August. It’s an event some people in our town never miss, and folks come from all over the state, too. We used to go anually when our daughters were little, now we go just every few years to see what it’s like. We marvel at the way people go on rides and the variety of fried food options.
It hasn’t changed much, except it’s bigger and the cost of everything has skyrocketed; yet visitors seem undeterred. It was packed. We love the animals—pigs, cows, goats— and the people watching is beyond great. A very American afternoon. The mixture of people was probably some percentage of Trump and Harris supporters, hard to know. It was not a place to talk about that.
Here is the video grab. Enjoy.
And here are some photos:
Happy Sunday! See you tomorrow.
Liza, you are as fine with a camera as you are with a pen, and many thanks for the calm and country feeling...
Love state fairs! Americana at its best!
