I want to share an event that is happening in a few weeks. Many of you know that I am a huge fan of the historian Heather Cox Richardson, so it is with immense pleasure to tell you that she and I will be in conversation on July 25th in Damarascotta Maine. For more information, go here.
We plan to talk about women change-makers, politics, Reconstruction, The New Yorker, feminism, and the role that creativity can have in bringing about cultural and political change. I know we are both champions of the notion that individuals can make a difference.
Half the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Lincoln Theater, and half to help the fund to help make my documentary, WOMEN LAUGHING. This film is about how the work of women humorists can help us see differently, and ultimately bring about cultural transformation.
If you live in the wonderful state of Maine, join us! Copies of my history, Very Funny Ladies: The New Yorker’s Women Cartoonists will be available and signed prints of the drawing below. I will also draw Heather on stage!
If you would like to make a donation to my documentary, we are doing a kickstarter right now, here is the link.
More later. I will be covering the RNC and hope to draw some of it tonight. Thanks for being here.
Awesome!! Wish I could fly to Maine!!!
Liza, I’m so jealous! Fantastic news! I wish I could be there!
