Why are they so fun to tease?

I thought I’d share lawyer drawings with you, since we are hearing from a lot of them right now, what with someone famous getting arraigned tomorrow. I find myself getting a headache trying to understand all the lingo.

Lawyers are great fodder for humor, although I have not done that many lawyer cartoons. Some cartoonists (like my husband, Michael Maslin) draw them all the time.

What makes them so easy to make fun of? Perhaps it’s all the specific words they use, perhaps it’s that lawyers seem to be involved of every aspect of life. Their presence is often a part of a heightened situation, or a potentially difficult situation. In the end, perhaps it’s because they are always so serious. People who are serious are fun to tease.
