I drew this recently and The New Yorker bought it and it’s published in this week’s issue. Always a thrill!
The idea for the drawing came from actively perusing the New York Times for food trends. I found one. Climate Conscious Lentils is something, I kid you not. Making fun of such things is one of my favorite ways to tease. Despite all the craziness in the world, we still have our weird passions.
Have I posted this one below here ? This was in the magazine during the pandemic. From what I know, people are still fermenting tons of foodstuffs, I don’t know if this trend has slowed down or not. This woman went a little crazy with all her spare covid-time. I’m surprised she didn’t fement her partner.
I think humor is often in the details.
