A little news, but mostly photos that I took in New York of people living their lives the last few days. I hope you enjoy.
I have had my eye on Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” as it heads to the Senate. Not looking good for Trump, to my estimation. Today, the NY Times reports two things: some Republicans in the House are regretting voting for it, and experts say it will add to the deficit in much larger ways than previously thought. Conservatives on Wall Street are worried, and Moody’s downgraded the US' credit rating last month, casting doubt that the country can pay its bills.
“The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday that the broad Republican bill to cut taxes and slash some federal programs would add $2.4 trillion to the already soaring national debt over the next decade, in an analysis that was all but certain to inflame concerns that President Trump’s domestic agenda would lead to excessive government borrowing.”
Musk has a lot of money that he can throw at Congressional races in GOP primaries, using it against Senators who oppose Trump in even small ways. A few days ago, he came out and opposed this bill (can you believe we are talking about an unelected official from South Africa in this way?) — which means its unclear if he will use his financial power to help Trump. Is he playing a game, trying to blackmail Trump for something? These are people’s lives. Both Trump and Speaker Johnson are furious with Musk. But it could mean potential good for our country if Musk withdraws his money: the Democrats could win back the House in the midterms.
More photos. I may like the last one the best. Tell me your favorite one.
Thanks for being here, see you tomorrow. Have a fab Wednesday.
You refer to Musk as an unelected official from Australia, I think you meant South Africa.
All the photographs today, are great. Thanks for sharing.
