Elon Musk just bought Twitter. I’m a more than a little annoyed by that, for many reasons. What will that mean for the app? Too soon to tell, but I’m worried. I fear it will devolve into more negativity and unleash attacks and frankly, not be the Twitter that I’ve loved. I am aware many don’t like Twitter, and I understand why but I have found a way to use it, enjoy it and benefit by it . I have met many good people on Twitter who have become friends.
Aside from being on Twitter, I have done many cartoons about Twitter. This color one below was my first one, drawn during the Arab Spring. Because of the way twitter in part fueled or reported those events, many Americans were beginning to notice Twitter. And use it. This cartoon is making fun of those Americans. Myself included.
Then I have done assorted ones over the years about people and using the funny app.
Of course children, we gotta have the sandbox cartoon.
And relationships.
This was done during the 2016 election, if I remember correctly.
And of course this is a spin-off of AA, aimed at those of us who are addicted to Twitter.
And yes, we have to make fun of how Twitter might be grounds for divorce.
And Twitter has shown us the meaning of life, one way or the other.
And finally, its not (yet) possible to tweet in death. That we know of. Maybe Musk will make that a possibility.
It could be said that Twitter should be blamed for the election of Trump. I believe it was an element in his rise to power. He knew how to use it to manipulate people. And, now, there is talk that Musk will let him back on twitter. I hope not.
He used Twitter to divide us. Here are some drawings I have done over the past five years about Trump and Twitter.
I am grateful for all the wonderful people whom I’ve met on Twitter! Even some current and former employees of the app. And hopefully I will continue to say “Good Morning” on the app every day, as I have for years, for a good while longer.
Great cartoons!..
Thank you!
