I love doing drawings that have NYC vistas, complete with water towers. And I like doing drawings that show that not all New Yorkers are unfriendly. To live in such a tightly packed city, people have to be able to get along. I realize that many don’t, of course, but on balance, most do. What’s the saying? New Yorkers are kind but not nice, while Southerners are nice but not kind? Did I get that right?

It was one I wanted to resubmit to The New Yorker, so I couldn’t show everyone—they like to publish unpublished work.
