Holidaytime can provoke odd behavior

We’re starting to see cars with evergreen trees on the roofs now. It’s that time of year.

For this drawing, in my mind I had this image of someone decorating their tree immediately after they bought it. Probably some people do this—in the same way that they decorate their houses for the holidays, they adorn their cars with all kinds of stuff. I think I’ve seen Christmas wreaths on car grilles in New Jersey.

Spotting the first car with tree-on-roof has become a sport in our family, who can see one first. Usually it’s on or before December 1st; we have now seen a few and it’s December 3rd. Here we go!
