Arrived in Oslo, jet-lagged, sweaty and lacking sleep, but happy. The weather is absolutely beautiful. I drew this woman sitting by the several fountains in the center of the city.
Then, as I headed back to my hotel, taking notice of how, even though there were a lot of people out and about, Oslo is a quiet city. Suddenly, a marching band appeared out of nowhere. I have no idea why, what the occasion is. Maybe you don’t need an occasion for a marching band. It certainly was not what one would expect in the center of Oslo. It was a real treat.
Tomorrow, I will be live-drawing all day for Oslo Freedom Forum, and you can follow my drawings in real time on my Twitter and Instagram. I will post here at some point.
Happy Monday!
Love it! I’m in Denmark next month and can’t wait. I’ve found Nordic countries to a fresh break from ... America ... never need an excuse to make music!! I have plans to busk with a couple other harmonica players on the streets of Viborg ... we’re gonna do it without asking first... feels naughty, Danes are all about the rules 😁😁😁🇩🇰🇩🇰
Perhaps they were playing to welcome you to Oslo.
