Putting Odd Things Together

And it might make funny

Nothing in the news spoke to me to write about today (of course there’s plenty of news), and when that happens— I give you drawings!

I’ve done a lot of desert island cartoons over the years. It’s not a scenario that particularly speaks to me, but it is one that you can easily plug thoughts into. It’s such an odd situation, very unreal, and so it lends itself to absurdity.

Here is one that employs one of my favorite topics, the hot dog stand!

I just had an idea. For next week’s drawings, I will use the desert island scene and put another one of my favorite topics in it. The swing. What will it be, what will it say, and will it make you laugh? I should also try putting a water tower on a desert island.

This is how a cartoonists’ brain works. Particularly when it’s 98 degrees outside; I may be losing my mind!
