Seeing With A Camera
And a few bits of news
As I scan the media, a few stories jump out, nothing really loud. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on.
Fires blazing in France and Spain are frightening, and are causing mass evacuations. They are also in a heat wave that is making things worse.
Bibi’s in town. He’s in Washington for Lindsey Graham’s funeral, but while he’s here, he will certainly try to schmooze/pressure/manipulate Trump into more aggressiveness (is that a word?) towards Iran.
Trump and Zelinskyy met behind closed doors before the Graham funeral. Do you ever wonder what it is like to meet Trump behind closed doors, one-on-one? Ugh.
Trump’s people forced treatment on a hunger striker in ICE detention.
A federal judge ordered there be more releases of the Epstein Files this week.
(in my original post, I said “Mitch McConnell’s funeral,” that was an error. I fixed it, apologies for the mistake!)
It’s been a while since I shared photographs. Below and above are a few, and a video that I took while traveling here in LA. You all know I feel there’s a fine line between looking at the world as a cartoonist, and looking at the world as a filmmaker/photographer.
This one below is colorized. Usually I don’t fuss with the color at all, and don’t crop. But I thought the shift in color made it tell another story.
This was wierd. A book seemingly tossed behind some machinery by a building. The title is “The Book Thief.”
I won’t comment on the one below. You tell me what you see.
Classic Santa Monica.
Strolling on the beach, I saw this abstract painting.
And a video. I love this old walkway to the beach.
Thanks for being here!! Have a great Tuesday. Hang in there and try to enjoy the summer.

Did you mean Lindsey Graham’s funeral?
Could be wishful thinking, methinks... two for one....
