Thank you Liza. Wonderful cartoon. My mother would have said at any age after 3, "Yes I do, but no champagne for you, Elizabeth." I am remiss in our conversations as to whether you have children or not. I remember a beachside frolicking story. Apologies. Very unlike me to not have family knowledge of those in my life. So....?
Thank you! It reminds me of the expression on my Mom's face after asking us what we would like her to cook for us for our dinner, after we cheerily replied 'everything you make is yummy'! I remember the look on her face was weary; we did not realize that she needed some input not a compliment! Perhaps she really needed both, as well as a break once in a while from the endless repetition of cooking every single day...now I understand it completely!
Funny, I have never been taken out for mother's day! Had not thought of that until now! Not a problem. I know it is an event with some families, just not ours! How wonderful it is to be reminded of what mothering is about at least once a year! Including the silly things!
Another delightful drawing to celebrate today! I am so grateful for you and your voice & your drawings! You are a voice of love & joy & common sense in a world that needs more of all three. Thank you!

❤️ I stopped going out for Mothers Day brunch when my 5 year old nephew ordered quiche.
Not sure if I was shocked or impressed. (My two barbarians ordered cheeseburgers and pizza.)
