Today was a day of coming up with ideas for drawings for The New Yorker to send in this week. They took like three weeks off— submissions were closed— but this week, they are accepting our batches on Tuesday. It’s often difficult to get back into the swing after so much time off, one can get a little rusty. Creativity needs oiling to keep running smoothly, and while its good to take breaks, it’s hard to know how much time away is too much. But it went well, and I think I have the beginnings of some cartoons; I found some funny words in the NY Times this morning that I am going to try to integrate into ideas. I love trends! I will draw them up tomorrow afternoon and Tuesday morning, shooting for six or seven sketches.
With such serious stuff going on, it’s often hard to find the funny…..but it’s always there.
Yesterday’s post was so serious, I thought I would send along a silly drawing for today. It’s certainly scarf season, and I have a lot of drawings on the subject. I also love visual humor.
And yet another scarf drawing:
I hope you are having a restful Sunday. See you tomorrow.
Thanks for the laugh out loud during a somber moment! Really funny. Yay.
totally love the "evolution of the scarf!"
