All women

The idea of a measure of reform coming to the Supreme Court is pretty exciting. Today, President Biden put forth ideas for such reform, warning that “extremism is undermining the public confidence in the court’s decisions.” It has little chance of passing in the GOP controlled House, but he is putting it out there. He even wrote an opinion piece for the Washington Post. Biden is calling for term limits, a clear code of conduct for sitting justices, and he proposed a Constitutional Amendment that would limit the broad presidential immunity that the court recently supported.

It prompted me to post this drawing about the Supreme Court I did recently.

Back in 2012, Justice Ginsberg dreamed of an all-female court, and I drew about it. She said,

"So now the perception is, yes, women are here to stay. And when I'm sometimes asked when will there be enough [women on the supreme court]? And I say when there are nine, people are shocked. But there'd been nine men, and nobody's ever raised a question about that."

If we can dream of a female President, and maybe a female President and Vice Presidential ticket —as some are contemplating right now as Kamala Harris is poised to select her VP— why not an all-female Supreme Court?
