The GOP's First Debate Circus

Who will win?

Tonight is the first official debate of the 2024 Presidential Election. It will be the Republicans, and tonight eight candidates will be on stage. Here they are.

I did the drawing looking at headshots of the candidates. Some of these politicians I had never drawn before, so it was quick first impressions of their faces, bodies and energy. I’ve drawn Pence numerous times (remember the fly on his head at a previous debate with Kamala? See below), and Christie and Haley once before.

I then drew this version:

And finally did this version below because I think Chris Christie (on the far right) is a live-wire who thinks and says what he feels. He is from New Jersey, after all.

It will be interesting tonight, that’s for sure!

Bonus drawing from the 2020 Vice Presidential Debate when a fly landed on Pence’s head. It was all over social media. I typically live draw the debates, but I don’t plan to tonight.
