Trump is in town to answer questions. I don’t know why I find that so satisfying. He is here to answer questions in the discovery phase of a lawsuit that NY Attorney General Letticia James has brought against him for “staggering” fraud. The trial will be in the fall.
Meantime, Trump’s lawyers have asked that the NYC civil lawsuit brought against him by E. Jean Carroll for rape be postponed. It was supposed to begin April 25th, and I am hoping to go and live draw if I can get close. Unclear whether Trump will appear.
Many of Manhattan’s citizens are unhappy with Trump, but I do believe a jury would be fair and decide on the facts. DA Bragg said in his speech after the indictment of Trump that he indicts many crimes like those alleged against the former President. Trump is not special, and should not be treated that way. He should be judged on the facts as presented, as any other citizen.
If he does buy a pretzel, I hope it’s a really dry one, and he chokes on it. But nothing fatal. Then he’d miss out on his richly deserved prison time.
Amen on your commentary.
