A rant today, I was so upset, and still am.

Trump shouted at Ukranian president Volodomir Zelensky, with Vance repeatedly chiming in to say, “Have you said thank you?”

This is so incredibly wrong and disrespectful. I am beyond embarrassed for our country.

Trump’s comments included a rewriting of the history of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, blaming of Biden, blaming of Zelensky for not wanting an end to the war. Trump blamed Zelensky for coming to the US for a PR campaign to get support from the American people. No blame whatsoever directed at Putin for invading a sovereign country. Trump talked over Zelensky repeatedly and would not let him answer questions or explain his position. It was attack, attack, attack. And then told Zelensky that “you’ve talked enough.”

The press conference with the two presidents that was scheduled was canceled.

I just hope and pray that this backfires on Trump bigtime.

It was grotesque bullying. And the reason why it came to shouting on Trump’s behalf is because Zelensky refused to back down to Trump and Vance’s horrible, slimy bullying. They claim they want peace, but what they want is peace on Putin’s terms. This administration does not have any qualms about the fact that Putin INVADED Ukraine.

Trump shouted at Zelensky suggesting that the Ukranian president wanted WWIII, when it’s Trump who will in fact be causing world chaos (already is). Trump says he is a “man of the world, I am for the world,” and that’s as far from the truth as anyone can get.

Trump issued a statement after the meeting and said he had determined that the Ukrainian leader “is not ready for Peace if America is involved.” Trump said Zelensky “can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

Peace if America and Putin are involved, that is.

Senator Chris Murphy puts it this way: this was a planned ambush to embarrass Zelensky. The Ukranian President, our ally, came to find a way to compromise with Trump, even though days ago Trump called him a dictator and claimed he started the war (Trump also said yesterday, “Did I say he was a dictator? I don’t remember saying that.” The world heard him say that, and I reported it here when it happened).

What I find so incredibly distasteful —the whole thing was, of course— was Vance repeating that Zelensky should be grateful, and why hasn’t he thanked us. I believe this is a tactic to get it into the brains of Americans that Zelensky is somehow an ungrateful war monger, an unreasonable man.

Now is the time for the Democrats and anyone opposed to Trump to say loudly and clearly, this is all Trump propaganda. All Trump wants is more money and power, and he sees Putin as his ticket. I can even imagine that Putin is laughing at his good fortune.

The Trump administation has issued a statement saying they do not believe Russia is a cyber sercurity threat.
