I felt exactly the same as I listened to both speeches, and realized that I underestimated Charles. Oh to be a mouse in the corner when the royals returned to their suite!

I agree with your comments. Interesting that the video you have provided has now been restricted.

This time it is a "tale of two Georges"!!! I LOVE IT!! That one went WAAAY over so many heads in that room when he said that! HE does have a great sense of humor but really gets what is going on..and can be civil about it while driving points home. Unfortunately for us, dt&co &maga only get something if it is railroaded violently down the tracks. I also think they missed his point about the J6 insurrection too...and so many other comments..very precise, serious, needing to be understood!

One was raised to be a King, the other was trained in the art of slum lordy.

Thank you for reading the speech for me. Thank you for witnessing and keeping our spirits up. Crispus Attucks was one of the first killed in the Boston Massacre--mixed race former slave! A little history would help. And thank you for making me smile with the drawing. Crucial mix.

Loved watching you live-draw with Andy. I doubt that anyone in MAGA-ville caught any of King Charles' nuanced admonitions. But I just have to say, everyone, please, stop with the Royal Worship! Stop it. Stop being grateful that an obscenely rich, privileged, entitled "aristocrat" from a former colonial power across the pond is not himself prone to violence and dictatorship and has the "nerve" to hint at a rebuke. Let's put it this way---King Charles gave Donald Trump all the pomp and circumstance he longs for. King Charles visited a man, honored a man, who he must know is a pedophile and a war criminal. King Charles wants to charm Donald Trump so that Trump is more biddable. Give me Mark Carney any day.

will we ever have a truly moral and fair Supreme Court?

Like his mother before him, King Charles excels at so-called “soft power.” Also, as Andy Borowitz pointed out, he can speak in complete sentences. No wonder his speech went over the heads of tRump and his sTrumpettes.

King Charles is getting more adulation from the US than he gets from us Canadians. Of course the King and Mark Carney talk in full well articulated sentences and are educated and know history. The bar may be quite low these days but we appreciate the acknowledgement:)

Yes, Trump drains the very color from our flag.

All hail to a real king, one with intelligence, diplomacy, dignity, and the ability to give a nuanced speech that made sense, which without threats of violence and use of bad language, and hidden between the lines yet in plain sight, struck one for democracy. Here. Here, Charles. I applaud you.

It seems Charles has aged into wisdom. I’m glad.

This whole piece gave me hope.
