Trump's Speech Of Distortion And Hate

Trump is still droning on, but I’ll share what I drew tonight while watching his address to a joint session of Congress. Some members of the Democratic Party chose not to attend, among them Chris Murphy and Patty Murray.

As he arrived and walked down the aisle between the seats that seperate Republicans from Democrats; he shook a lot of GOP hands. But the dems stayed seated and did not look at Trump. A few, Adam Schiff among them, stood, but stared straight ahead. Trump ocassionally glanced over his shoulder at the Democrats. Once at the podium, he said about the Dems, I can do nothing to make them happy.

There were too many lies and incredibly hurtful, arrogant, racist, homophobic statements to record. He started by lying about the election and winning a mandate and it went downhill from there.

Very soon into his delivery, Rep Al Green began shouting at Trump, and stood and shook his cane in his direction. The passionate Democrat was peacefully removed by guards.

Many Democrat women wore pink, they told the press it represented “power and protest.” Some members wore yellow and blue to show support for Ukraine.

Teump attacked. He whined. He bragged and boasted. He blamed Biden for anything, and attacked Democrats, transgender people and immigrants.

Musk was there, of course, but did not sit with the Cabinet. Trump praised him.

Some Democrats held signs, which had words on both sides so they could flip them as they needed to.

He called the Middle East “a rough neighborhood.”

“One way or another we are going to get Greenland. We will make you rich.”

He introduced a bunch of people—in fact it seemed endless— and gave awards and played the entertainer. Trump of course had to talk about his being shot. He went off the teleprompter to say things like, “like you’ve never seen before,” “nobody will never believe it.”

And of course,

“I believe I was saved by God to make America great again.”

His wrap-up contained, in part: “We are going to forge the freest, most dominant society ever known, the richest, we are going to lead humanity into space and plant the American flag on the planet mars and far beyond…The Golden Age of America has just begun. It will be like nothing that has ever been seen before.”
