I draw on the A Train. It’s my regular subway route, so it makes sense that I might, but also the layout of the seats makes it easy to draw someone across the car without them really comprehending what I’m doing. Very important on the subway, because I have no idea how people would react. They might not like it! So I also try to be sure they don’t see me looking at them, a NYC no-no.
Live-drawing is my passion. So is NYC. I’ve been live drawing in my #iPhone and #iPad in the city—and around the world— for at least 6 years. It’s a way to capture the essence of a place and it’s people in a way different than photographs.
