I am somewhat illiterate when it comes to Stock Market things, but I am seeing this on social media:
S&P 500 RISES ABOVE 5,700 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY
It makes me think Biden and Harris are good on the economy. And Trump said in the last election that the “Stock Market will crash if Biden is elected.” Experts say the Fed’s rate cut yesterday is a signal that inflation is under control. Trump suggests this was a political move; it was anything but.
Harris is ahead Trump in in Pennsylvania, and tied nationally, according to polls. Confusing, but I’m just putting it out there. We still have to get through October, which likes surprises.
Singer Billie Eilish endorsed Harris. Yippee!
Harris is doing a live-stream event with Oprah tonight, that sounds like a good idea for her. I like Oprah, her staying power as an influencer is quite impressive. Hope this makes a difference.
Below is a drawing from when our country was removing Confederate monuments a few years ago, rightfully so. I extrapolated the idea to what Trump would want to remove. It still holds true for him. Particularly when you consider Lady Liberty as a symbol of immigration, which is how I see her. She is a welcoming figure, a beacon, to all who need help and safety, all who have dreams and ambitions for a better life. Trump only wants a better life for himself, he could care less about freedom and democracy. His running mate, JD Vance is the same, and continues to call the Hatian residents of Springfield, Ohio “illegal immigrants,” even though they are in this country legally. The whole Springfield Ohio thing is beyond belief—Trump and Vance knew the pet eating story was false before the debate, yet Trump continued to spread the lie.
We are a nation of immigrants, and that’s what makes us so great. NYC is a (rather large) microcosm of this idea, and it’s why I love the city so much. People of all backgrounds, languages and skin colors living closely together, and getting along.
Striving for better things.
Thanks for being here, see you tomorrow! Happy Thursday.
You are spot on!! And even though you deftly use irony and absurdity to help make your points, we all know that Trump tearing down the Statue of Liberty is (maddeningly) nowhere nearly as absurd a concept as it might seem!!!
Great Trump cartoon.
