I think our pets, critters, and people we know who can be jaunty, even when they don't wear a jaunty hat, are the things that help us cope with the daily barrage of news stories detailing how we might not even be able to buy a jaunty hat. Your drawings and updates are most welcome. The sun is shining in upstate NY. We are an hour and a half from the Canadian border and the St. Lawrence River. Finally, I hope we had our last winter weather advisory on Tuesday and Wednesday. It is warming up with no snow flurries or flakes in the forecast. I think I'll jaunt up to the sugar shanty to bring the pancake griddle and all the other stuff I use to feed people during the sugaring season, down to the house for storage for next season. And take time to play with my Beagle-Seabee. He will put a smile on my face when I tell him to get his toy. He found them all after the snow melted. I'm glad I took the time to read your post today.
I have heard so many disturbing stories from colleagues this week. The scope of censorship that is taking place is vast and frightening. Federal employees having to use safe words to talk about their jobs so their positions are not eliminated. I’ve started referring to this time as 1984 in 2025. 😢
Oh how very happy I am after looking at these drawings. I feel like the woman in the last drawing...only with clothes. It's Good Friday, and I'm trying not to ingest too much orange man and ingest lots of Jesus. I almost fell off the chair seeing a photo of this evil man pretending to pray. I was waiting for the lightening to strike. But God will take care of things in His time. (I just wish He would hurry.)
Well I didn’t get to the live, but I an appreciate that you shared the cartoons and the critters. Thanks Liza. The news is depressing daily but I have some hope for my young grandchildren, the oldest is having outdoor basketball matches, his sister is a practiced flautist and readying her self for The annual Spring Band Concert. And their little brother is watching or playing a video game. Welcome spring break for them
thanks for the jaunty cartoon- I tell myself a version of this every morning!
Thanks for the smiles; you're daily drawings are a freshing breeze in my inbox.
Hold tight and please never stop drawing. What you do, what you say, what’s expressed- all of it - helps me stay upright. 🩵

delighted to see the dachshund. Their complete stubbornness about putting up with crap should be a role model for us all these days.
