It's terrific having your perspective on the "cartooning society's" goings on these days. I'm assuming these activities are not one-offs and that these sorts of happenings have been occurring for some time. Delightful. Thanks.
Shermund's cartoon could be construed as a Trumpian gasbag explaining the necessity of annexing Greenland to the Danish ambassador's daughter. “You're from a very intelligent little country, my dear.”
Such an enticing preview, thanks! I love seeing the ink and the paper—they show so much about the work of these artists than the line art printing in the magazine.
Liz, if we react to everything he says we won’t make it thru the next 4 years. We need to react to what he tries to do. He’s all about creating chaos and confusion.
2025 has already delivered many surprises, but my heart skipped two beats upon reading, "I spent the day helping with the hanging...". Thanks for the video preview. Will any of this exhibit be shown on a website?
That would definitely be of interest! Please let me know if it gets done.
And I'm so glad you're finally over your plague episode. I'm currently stalled in a lousy cold that consists mostly of awful coughing spells. It's the longest-lasting cold I've ever had, and I can't seem to shake it. But your Substack columns and cartoons are a welcome daily distraction.
Btw, your introduction to the exhibit is brilliant -- clear, informative, engaging, and well-written. Brava!
P.S. I'd like to buy 2 of your "I'm speaking" Kamala Harris t-shirts, if they're still available. Also, how much for each, and how do I pay for them? (I mentioned my interest in one of your recent Zoomcasts.)
I saw he who must be obeyed on the TV and golly, he looks awful...I mean really awful. And as for using the military to take Greenland and the Panama Canal, these ridiculous statements confirm he has lost it. Make American Greenland Again. Jeepers. I am so very glad you are better. And tis exciting about the exhibit. Don't forget to wash your hands.
Glad you’re well enough to attend the exhibit! I’d love to be a fly-or in this age I guess a mini-cam-on the wall to hear all the discussions about your art form! Yes, a recording of the event would be fun to watch. You keep us grounded in this world of absurdities we find ourselves in. I wish some of Jimmy Carter’s spirit and faith could fly from the Rotunda to the places elsewhere in the Capitol, to bring a sense of dignity and selflessness where little of either is currently present.

So delighted you’re better! Am living vicariously (and happily)!
Ms. Donnelly, your posts continue to bring insight, delight, and even joy to me. Thanks for this one that continues those outcomes for me.
Ditto the comments above! Squeaky old wooden floors are alive with history! Could you smell the varnish?
AND I wonder if Putin also said, "I'm going to snatch up Ukraine?". Greeln-kraine, our newest state?
G.r.e.e.n.-k.r.a.i.n.e.
Greenkraine would've given all its electoral votes to Harris.

Sadly, no. But I will take many photos and am videoing the opening event!
Sweet!!!
LOVE this cartoon! Brava, Barbara. And so glad that you are back on your
feet, Liza.
Liza - Any chance of that Feb 13 gig with you and Michael being Zoomed for us in other time zones?
I don't think so, they don't do that. But we may tape it, so that might be of interest.

Glad you are feeling well again! I love this cartoon - Thank you for sharing it!
So glad you’re better!
Somehow I can envision a cartoon about snatching Greenland -- as sad as it is that it's even necessary!
