Today was nuts, and my day got away from me. I will be going live with writer Steven Beschloss, who writes the newsletter, America America. Tonight, I was in conversation at the Society of Illustrators with my friend Liana Finck, another cartoonist for The New Yorker. She has a book out called Mixed Feelings, and we talked about that and her work in The New Yorker. Liana and I have known each other for 11 years, and it’s always a joy to speak with her. The evening was co-hosted by the American Academy in Berlin, which has yearly residencies for artists and writers, and I learned tonight that many New Yorker cartoonists have been fellows there. Among them, Liana Finck, Jules Feiffer and Ed Koren.
