I think Trump cannot overturn a NY conviction either, as that is also a State one. But Georgia, wow! I read that NYT article also. It is unbelievable, except that it actually happened. I hope they all result in convictions and he loses the election if he gets the nomination. We are at a crossroads again and I believe our Union will endure once again. Keep the positive and dispel the fear. America is stronger than this tyrant.

Well put. I do believe we are strong and there are enough good people to make us stay that way.

Thanks for today’s post. Reminds me that I’m not alone in realizing what a mess we’re in. And your drawing made be smile.

I feel the same way. I want people to be constantly outraged and fearful like I am!

Reporting from the bowels of Ohio and the Trump indictments don’t even really register in the conversations here. A lot of Republicans have simply moved on or don’t care. The implications of the efforts to overturn the election are NBD to most folks here. Even liberals are tired of talking about it and hearing it.

America took too long in bringing charges. We’ve lost the urgency and the subsequent importance of it all.

I disagree that we took too long! There is incredible urgency, and due process had to happen.

Yeah... maybe on a legal timeline, this didn’t take too long, but I’m on the ground in Ohio and culturally, there is a collective “that’s ancient history” vibe. Local media just doesn’t ... care... it quit bleeding, so it doesn’t lead.

It’s horrifying that we are getting a collective shrug from them, but that can’t be ignored by the national political press. Almost nobody cares here... The more breathlessly the indictments get covered, the more tuned out The Middle is gonna get.

I’m not seeing a whole lot of flag waving and red hat wearin’ anymore, but I’m not sure apathy is a good replacement for that.

That's very sad. ALthough apathy is a good replacement for red hat wearing, imho.

👍 Also holding my breath, but feeling optimistic that he’s going down. Interesting piece about Fanni Willis in the Times today.

I have a few wishes for D.T.

I would like his extra hair piece to be removed

His orange tint make up taken off. His clip on tie changed to bow tie

A different suit jacket and loud suspenders !!!
