Looking at the NY Times the other day, I saw a recipe for coleslaw on their homepage and said aloud to no one in particular, “Maybe I should make coleslaw today.” It struck me and Michael (who was within earshot) as a funny caption— I mean coleslaw is inherently funny, don’t you think?
I never made the coleslaw, by the way.
This is how ideas come, as pieces, words, phrases. The notion that this ginormous cabbage is in her backyard….well, she better make coleslaw or else this cabbage may take over her backyard.
I am currently in Oslo Norway for a conference called Oslo Freedom Forum. I will post about it tomorrow or Tuesday. The Human Rights Foundation, a non-profit who sponsors this three day gathering, bring me here every year to draw the speakers and everything. It’s always very inspiring. An evolving community of global activists, this year the theme is “Re-Claim Democracy.” We haven’t lost ours (but we are threatened), but many other countries have.
More tomorrow, happy Sunday!
Yes coleslaw is inherently funny! Looking forward to hearing about the conference!
I also think “I don’t think coleslaw is political” would be a great caption, too!
