You never failed to make me smile, Liza! I do need to mention that I live in Los Angeles, where it’s 80° today and sunny. So of course, a martini is more appropriate than hot chocolate!
a springlike day in Aspen, just right for a soothing cup of hot chocolate as I work on the upcoming municipal election. local voices as well as nationwide need to be heard!
Spring-like also in SF Bay Area near Stanford… Always always always love seeing the name Liza Donnelly in my inbox. And I have happily forwarded any number of your daily columns to friends, only to find that when I do so a week or so later, they thank me with a smile and tell me they’ve subscribed and already receive your daily missives. As I’ve said before, always a beautiful mix of whimsy and seriousness, and I guess that’s what life is like… An image of two parallel RR rails or - maybe even three - because it’s not like peaks and valleys… It all plays out together. Be well. Thank you for the joy.
Well, they shouldn't have let you drink seriously in elementary school. How about a Mai Tai? My wife Linda Davis makes better ones than almost any bar. But you have to come to Pittsfield to get one.

Hot chocolate, it has to be, this old body is intolerant of alcohol and ultra conservatives.
On the bright side it takes less to get us tipsy…

I'm only a periodic drinker. Every 15 minutes.
Or a chocolate martini 🍸
Genius
Great cartoon for these days!
Even better is a chocolate martini!
No ho ho! No martinis for this old guy. But a rum and Coke - double ? Yes ma'am. And thank you for your service.
I got thoroughly sick on them in 1970 and can’t smell run without retching even now…
We called them Cuba Libres.. (off an army base during Vietnam)
But did you wake up the next morning in Leeds, UK? I did.
I’d love to be there at this exact moment
