What a delight finding this here. Will be listening later when quiet descends on the house. Can’t say how much it still amazes me that I get to see your work and read about your process and thoughts. Meaningful to me but extended to my nonstop drawing grandson and an inspired grandnephew, priceless. Thank you for being here. p.
How neat is this! I am a retired Toronto litigator who has been subscribing since 1974. A week without my New Yorker and especially its cartoons is unimaginable.
When I read “Here at The New Yorker”, I savoured every word.
Now a PROPOSAL for an occasional contest:
Let your readers send in cartoon ideas ( with a waiver, of course) . These ideas would be confined to a quotation in the form of a statement or question - no explanation or guidance allowed. You and your husband could each pick your favourite and draw competing cartoons.
I’d like to hear you discuss your batches some day. How many do you send, which one goes first, do you comment on each other’s’ batch, that kind of stuff.
The table that has seen everything... that would make a great character. Even as a non cartoonist, I can already see the captions out of Table's mouth 😉
Love this! Thanks much for posting!

Here’s my entry: “Really?”
Anyway, congratulations and good luck with this.
What a lovely audio piece. It’s fun to meet Michael and to hear you both sharing stories together.
Thanks, Philip!
A wonderful piece, thank you and Michael for sharing. It is always fascinating to hear how the creative processes work.

How sweet! It is wonderful to hear two people talk about interests that they share, especially when they know each other's work so well. Thank you!
