My reaction to the first cartoon: "Oh my Lord." Sad and scary, and something a smart youngster might just say. So I tried to watch the news tonight. First time since the disaster. Couldn't do it. Had to turn it off. Did hear and read about the horrors abounding, but did have a jolt of joy with the pushback. And the chaos continues. Glad you got to concentrate on other positive things. Thanks for the update.
What strikes me about the three historical cartoons is how seriously dated the captions are. Are the three women in the Shermund simply envious of Jane, because she is married? Marriage envy seems like an outdated emotion. Obviously, they weren't invited to the ceremony. The Hokinson is baffling. The middle-aged matron appears to be announcing the adoption of a resolution that all ladies can be smart. If I had to guess, I would say this refers to birth control. Is it funny, though? The Petty seems the least amusing. Is this cheap, vulgar, gossip passing for sophisticated and “smart”?Here too, there may be some envy. For me, the best cartoons write the caption. These do not.
That cartoon makes me so sad; I think it's the combination of the sweet, sweet people you draw and the cruel message. Keep writing and drawing the truth and THANK YOU.
Choice is Moral. That cartoon says it all!

Yes, Liza: When women are creative we all benefit. Love your cartoon as well as the oldies. (Hokinson is one of my all time favorites .)
In this age of deliberate malice, I find these pieces of dry humor very necessary! Thank you!

They are from their time, it's true. But I love the captions.
Liza, I feel I abused your hospitality and apologize.
