Yesterday was the second day of the E. Jean Carroll vs. Donald Trump Civil Trial in Manhattan. It was a tense day, Ms. Carroll was to testify against Trump. I was there to live draw what I saw, and below are the sketches I did during the proceedings. I was in the gallery about five rows back from the area where the action happened, and had a very clear view of the judge and the witness stand. When presenting and interrogating, the lawyers’ backs were to us in the audience. I could also see about two thirds of the jury. You may have already read a bit about the trial, and so my report will be mostly drawings and some of commentary about what I heard and saw.
WOW, Liza, this is fantastic! Following this trial through your drawings, and commentary makes it like we all are right there watching the action unfold in front of us.
I know, from your previous post, you are not there today. That sucks! But previous engagements prevail!
Now, down to my thoughts on this, so far.
I said this before, and I’ll keep repeating it. Donald J. Trump is a narcissistic, psychotic, sociopathic, liar. Always has been. He needs to be committed to an insane hospital and the key thrown away. If he opens his mouth, he’s telling a lie. He expects everyone to bow down to him. He expects women to succumb to his ‘desires’. He’s a sexual pervert.
To make E. Jean Carroll get in the stand and have to relive every moment of the encounter with that piece of garbage is totally uncalled for. And, every one of us knows he, nor his idiot son, can keep their mouths shut. Thus judge has admonished Trumps lawyers every day, several times a day. He needs to order Trump appear before him, find him in contempt of court, and lock his ass up!
Why worry, or be concerned, about the crowds, or anything else. Trump floats above everyone anyway. That way he’s looking down in his servants, and subjects, all the time.
Thank you! Well I went into the trial to draw, and I cannot help but come away after two days with an opinion. Of course everyone deserves a fair trial and the jury I saw seem like honest hardworking folks (by appearance, of course). So we will see. It's hard to know how this will go.
Thank you for being there and thank you for your drawings and insightful comments. If I knew you personally I would send you some antacids. I hope justice prevails.
Thank you. Your comments and your drawings have made the trial more accessible to me. E Jean Carroll’s vulnerability and her courage and strength. And the jurors. Such a challenge for the jurors. I so appreciate you taking us with you this week.
Thank you Sally. It’s been enlightening and difficult. I get great strength from having my supporters with me. (Ps: I want to email you back and will soon)
What a lonely place the witness stand is, especially when talking about a rape and the aftermath.
Devastating. Thank you for witnessing.

You never know about jury trials, or juries, until it’s all over.
Thank you for your honest and vulnerable accounts of these events and especially the sketches. I feel like I'm there.
Thank you , Mark.
Fabulous work. Hope you can return.
Thank you for great drawings and reporting.
