Liza, you continue to amaze me. Once again, you have transported us to an event and given us a front row seat. You are remarkable and I am so happy to support and learn from you. I hope you have some well-deserved rest in your immediate future.
These drawings are bringing a gathering to me I would not otherwise be aware of. Thank you! The last statement though is not true for everyone in the ‘West’. LGBTQ+ people are struggling for rights, especially trans people and women are still struggling for reproductive rights. I know situations can be considered more dire elsewhere but I think statements like this do not help in what is truth everywhere. People are oppressors of other people everywhere. For wealth, power, notoriety, you name it. I think this statement belittles the very real
struggle of many in the ‘West’. Love your stuff but I think you got that one wrong, or whoever said it got it wrong and you repeated it. Maybe more of the population has more rights perhaps but not universally. Sound bites matter. This one hits me as wrong and dismissive of so many people suffering under oppressive attacks in Western countries. Sending ❤️🩹
Thank you for your thoughts. THe Forum slide show posted it and I drew it. I know what you mean, and don't disagree. But most of us in the west take so much for granted, and when I hear about conditions in authoritarian regimes, I can't help thinking we are unaware of how good we have it. Yes, there is horrible racism, sexism, homophobia and trafficing here and it should be acknowledged and worked on. So many people are, I think.
Day Two!!! I love these and Day One drawings and captions!!!
If I was managing editor or publisher of the New Yorker I would have the next issue of the magazine lead with one of the drawings on the cover and have the all the beginning pages filled with all the drawings! Followed by an article about the event.
Lisa, spectacular drawings. I hope everyone in Oslo and elsewhere appreciates your work🇳🇴🥇👍
Thank you, Diane.
I was curious how Jack dressed and groomed for the event. I was not disappointed. 😀
Yep!
Lisa Yasko's ensemble is fantastic!
What a tour de force, Liza! Your drawing hand must be aching! Thank you 10,000 times for transporting us all to Oslo.
Liza, this is your best column so far. So inspiring!!
Thank you!!

Thank you. Am trying to rest now, I find it difficult to stop but my body is telling me to!
Thanks for your drawings and notes about this conference and the people who spoke.

Thanks, Robert! I wish you were the editor!
