"A friend" counsels a Zoom group, all professionals. They do not talk about politics as a rule. Last night, they were all abuzz with the RNC. It was shocking. These people are supposed to be very intelligent. I read so much history about "you know who" in Germany, and I, too, feel a heaving heat on my back with Trump.
In America today, winning is more important than what is won. Republicans understand this. But not since FDR have Democrats understood this. For Democrats, policy is more important than winning elections. For Democrats, being on the outside looking in and debating policy among themselves is normal. Winning makes Democrats uncomfortable. So they will lose in November and return to their comfortable armchairs and decry and debate, comfortably.
Oh Liza, what a debacle. And the crowd mesmerized........gee, did they pass out orange kool aid before his speech. I hope you are correct that this night of scary idiocy may turn some of the undecideds away from Trumpists and anarchy and toward democracy.

Thank you for your selflessness in drawing and reporting the RNC convention. I feel sick just reading about it. I couldn't stomach watching it or even reading all the reports. I find Trump & J.D. Vance very frightening.

Such a scary time this is. This madman, this charlatan, this Pied-Piper of Republic-land is actually making people cry and drool. This is just a huge cult with people following the high priest of stupid and drinking his cool-aid. I'm totally boggled. Are Americans actually going to let this inmate run the asylum? Sometimes I really do wish there was a god who could step in and smack some sense into these people. Your artwork is amazing, Liza. I sat through only a few minutes of the lying, convicted felon, narcissistic adjudicated rapist sociopath’s speech. I couldn’t take it any longer. And listening to that bunch of listers in the crowd cheering that garbage was sickening!
I did notice one thing. The ‘patch’ he had on his ear. It as only stuck to the outside if his ear. This was clearly visible on a closeup by the camera which clearly showed open area and the top of his ear under the patch. That’s not the proper way to bandage a gunshot upper ear. Not even close.
I have no idea who he’s trying to fool with all this stunt he’s pulled with this shooting, but two people post their lives last Saturday, and two ended up in critical condition in the hospital. He doesn’t care about any of them. Not one care in the world. This ‘stunt’ was performed all for money, and sympathy. He was losing in the polls. He was not receiving the donor money he felt he needed. He had to come up with something.
A shooter with an AR-15 style semiautomatic rifle, a fake blood capsule, and a ‘Trump plan’. What could possibly go wrong? Another January 6th plot here folks. But, you can bet your bottom dollar Trump had nothing to do with it! Bull💩!!!
