Maybe he’s decided that being President isn’t worth the risk of death 🤷‍♀️

Great drawings! He must realize how lucky he is to be alive. Will it change him? I’m doubtful.

What I saw was a phony playing beatific martyr. It’ll bring more money in.

You are an admirable person, watching and drawing this mess. Thank you! This is the first political convention since 1960 that I’ve missed. When I read that TFG had time to golf yesterday but didn’t have time to make a condolence call to the woman whose husband gave his life protecting his family I gave up. Couldn’t bear to see or hear TFG. So thank you again for your perseverance.

It won't change him. All.he cares about is himself. He's a malignant narcissist and dangerous.

My mind is swirling around the contrast between your portrayal of Trump at his convention and Biden's tough and direct handling of Lester Young on NBC. Something deep is changing.

I agree re Biden and Holt. Biden must be livid about the media.

I appreciate you watching and reporting. I couldn’t bear to watch…now I want to see what you saw. Thank you as always for your drawings!

Liza, thank you for watching the RNC for me along with drawings and commentary.

I tend to agree with Jay Kuo and am skeptical…

Following the horrifying shooting on Saturday that left one Trump rally-goer dead, the ex-president is trying to ride the moment and appear as a unifier, not a divider.

We should be deeply skeptical.

Trump told the press, which dutifully reported on his shift, that he plans to change his acceptance speech on Thursday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. He intends to shift away from his usual divisive tone of attacking Joe Biden toward one that will be “a chance to bring the country together.”

And like some kind of Ebenezer Scrooge who has had a vision of his own death, Trump even claims he’s feeling “spiritual” following the attempt on his life.

Donald Trump. Spiritual. Okay…

I agree. DEEPLY skeptical.

He looked at JD and knew that’s who his benefactors had already chosen and his time had passed.

… JD is a more dangerous man than Trump could ever hope to be. This is not good…

yes, he is. Did you see the recent clip about marriage? I may post that today.

Yup. The whole “stick it out” regardless of SA. Yeah, think of the children 😏 … unfortunately, Ohio gives me a front-row seat to all things JD… I don’t really think our national press has a firm grasp on just how dangerous that man is… I wish some of them would plant themselves here, take us hicks and rubes seriously instead of dropping in and pulling out their “what they believe they know about Ohio” file. Do you follow David Pepper on here? He’s got a *little* bit of DNC blindness, but not much. (David’s always gonna have a soft spot for me as he has been the only one at the OH Dems to respond and meet 😀 He’s also one helluva writer)

Well-done, Liza!

It reminds me of his meeting with Big Pharma. He surrendered immediately. Same when he got shot. Shot out of his shoes? He is a classic trauma victim.

Maybe he had his flip flop shoes off for comfort? I thought that was weird, frankly.

Whatever pain meds Trump is taking, does not make him a changed and more sober man. Like you, I will never trust him or the "deep state" which is currently producing the trump show.

I watched as well. Appearence is everything to Trump. He'll wear that bandage with pride, a symbol of invincibility - stretching to divine intervention. (Does the bandage have to be that large? How was the ear damaged and to what extent? We don't know because there has not been official release of any report.) I believe any change in composure we saw was a political calculation, like the bowing of his head at a staged prayer service. Missing from "the family box" was wife, eldest daughter, grandchildren. That's a change.

Thanks for this, especially since you were exhausted. Now I hope I'm not turning into a heartless conspiratorial ejit, however, I'm sorry to say, I don't agree with you (for the first time.) This man hasn't changed, nor will he. He is an actor; a showman; a let me stir up those who may be on the fence kind of guy, who is looking for the sympathy vote. Look, I'm not that bad a guy and look what "they" did to me. A frightened man doesn't stand and fist bump the air until SS had to practically sit on him. And when asked about Project 25, the old liar hisses, he knows nothing about it. Really? I don't buy the changed man theory. His thoughts: play it up and ask for more donations.

Interesting observations on Trump’s demeanor. But then he’s a television personality who knows how to work an audience. Or maybe the ghost of future came to him during the night. Nope, can’t see him changing, at not long term. But he did get a good scare. I can’t watch more than a few minutes of the made for tv convention before turning it off. I don’t see much diversity in the attendees. Do you?
