Wow these are powerful. There’s something about drawings, they feel so much more “direct” than a photograph, not sure why. Really glad to have your window into this scene. They really should just plunk a 360 degree VR camera into the room and let people watch that way, you wouldn’t be so limited by the camera angles chosen.
Another post where it’s hard to hit the “like” button. But I appreciate your service in interpreting the proceedings. I was E. Jean’s editor at Playboy, forever ago. Hard to imagine those times.
Whenever matters like Trump/rape/criminality come up, the party’s over for me. More of a dislike thing, but not because of any shortcoming in the coverage. Tragedy and suffering make my finger hesitate at expressing approval.
These sketches are amazing. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully you’ll be able to get into the courtroom from here on out.
E. Jean hopefully has a solid enough case to stick it to this narcissistic psychotic sociopath. He needs to be out in a padded room and the key thrown away.
Liza, my dear lady, you are not giving yourself any, or enough credit. I have faith in you, and your art. I strongly feel that no matter where you end up, you’ll produce superior work for all of us.
We used to say an old saying in the department years ago.
“Keep the faith, baby! You’ll get the job done.”
I feel the same is fitting here. So, “Keep the faith, Liza! You’ll get the job done. We all have faith in you!”
Yo, Donnelly — I’ve been a free subscriber, kinda sorta biding my time to spend my dough judiciously. But after seeing your drawings of the Trump trial, and having savored your cartoons, I hadda join up! Nice work!
Tocapino couldn’t even look Ms. Carroll’s lawyers in the eyes when they were speaking, but Ms. Carroll looked Tocapino straight in the eye because she knows the truth and as soon as Tocapino made his inflammatory and gas lighting comments he had to look down so as not to make eye contact. He couldn’t say it to her looking at her eyes because his statement isn’t true. Ms. Carroll is telling the truth because to be abused can shatter that person’s soul which is why she can’t find the joy in laughter anymore. Ms. Carroll’s journey and pain is actually leading to a moment of healing, she’s actually providing the example by showing strength, courage, and understanding for herself and standing up for victims and leading by example that you can have the courage to heal and pursue justice. The affront and threat is actually the defense’s position that you attack victims and pursue vengeance over a victim and then try to victimize them again instead of focusing on the facts. But that’s actually a good thing for Ms. Carroll, she’s staying calm and collected, she looked him in the eyes when he couldn’t, and instead of focusing on the facts they just attacked her which that attack helps prove they don’t want you to focus on the facts which benefit Ms. Carroll.

Totally agree! But they need to keep the jury safe
Great drawings. So many!
Thanks Dan!

Why was it hard to hit “like?” Not being confrontational, just curious.

I totally understand. Same.

Thanks. I am concerned that once in the courtroom, I will be so far back I can’t see anyone! We’ll see!

Thank you very much! I really appreciate the support. Really, not just saying that!
I feel like I was there!
Thank you! That is what I was hoping for.

You are so good! Thank you for the refresher about the first trial. Wonder if there will be a third!
Thank you! I think the appeals will not work....
I agree. And by that time, only desperate or publicity-seeking lawyers will work for him. He doesn’t pay. Still thinks his fame is part of their pay.
But don’t you think he’ll defame her again in a rally?
Good point, but probably not!
Love all the drawings, but especially love the woman in the hallway....
Thank you!
