so enjoy your sharing your work-love to watch the characters come alive!
ran out of steam for watching the appointees being grilled. one takeaway has been daydreaming of Elizabeth Warren striding into the White House with a bottle of cleaner and some rags shouting "this place stinks! time to clean house!"
Wonderful image! Elizabeth Warren & cleaner.. in my head
Left after about 1/2 hr this morn cause I had too many separate convos going… and I was losing my humor w others not in our video wkshop w you … which I was enjoying and learning about how you create legs & arms etc w flesh in shadow! Guache I’ve heard of .. I’m very new to all art supplies… in a cancer survivors’ art therapy group once a week for 8 wks… 4 sessions around the year… will ask about guache tmoto! Might help w my frustration w standard high end watercolors… too much water… too little pleasure sometimes!
Have new respect for all artists ! And love watching your strokes become living beings, and trees n backgrounds, etc!
I missed live. Unavoidably. This was great and fun.
One of my favorite painters, Max Ernst, did a lot in guache. I think he may have combined tempura in some pieces; I dunno.
Politics doesn’t exist outside of life. It’s a social subset even at a coffee clatch. I agree, life is superior in the hierarchy of things that signify and, after all, is a major focus in art.
There’s so much in your monologue that’s rich in big ideas. And I very much liked your stooping “Amish” bearded guy. The past and present combined.
I stayed home today and tried to catch up with the to-do list in my head and relax. I didn't check my email so I didn't know you were going live. I have never painted with gauche. What brand are you using? I have watercolors and colored pencils among my supplies. I like things that are controlled but messy too. I decided to forego art classes this semester. Starting radiation treatments next Tuesday will be challenging. Your idea to paint people in the 1800s is great. I look forward to seeing your future videos.
Thank you for your live drawing and commentary. You do make me feel more at ease and even though you are talking a bit about the unimaginable things that are happening your calmness and depth are comforting.
