Hits hard. I just had a real conversation with my grandchildren (teenagers) with their mother - my strong smart and confident girl - who also had been sexually assaulted when she was younger. Like me.

We’re among thousands. Though neither told anyone when it happened. For the life of me I don’t understand why she didn’t tell me until years later.

As an old white male, I shouldn't be sticking my oar in, but I'd venture that women have been conditioned for thousands (!) of years to feel guilt for their rapes. Husbands murdered their wives for the crime of being raped, which was an assault on the man's honor, so honor demanded he kill the victim. That can still happen today in certain societies. Women are blamed because "what were you wearing," "Did you come on to him,""How much had you to drink?" There was, is, and perhaps always shall be a stigma. Women are overpowered. You are drugged. You innocently accept a ride that results in rape. Why did you get in the car?

I have no solutions other than better parenting of boys. I believe jerks beget jerks. If you see an aggressive, cocky, entitled kid, look to his father.

Thank you for all the information, the time lines and reporting. I keep wondering about Melania and how she figures into all of this. I heard an interview with Michael Wolff, who has many hours of interviews with Epstein, that simply chilled me to the bone. He claims that Trump and Epstein formed a "Pussy Committee" for Prince Andrew and had a bet about who would bed Princess Diana first (after the break-up of her marriage). Disgusting doesn't begin to describe it. I have a bumper sticker on my fridge that says "Anita Hill for Supreme Court." We are a nation that has never ever cared about sexual assault. Loved your cartoons.

Thank-you Liza for this post, cartoons and support. Unfortunately, I do not subscribe to CNN so cannot access the timeline. Is there a way around this? And...I imagine most of us have watched the Netflix series on both Epstein and Maxwell. Horrifying, grotesque and disgusting.

Is it just me?

DT has often said that he is not interested in so-and-so because she is "not his type (snicker snicker)." But his "type" seems to resemble his daughter. Many of his female appointments look alike to me. Put Gabbard and Noem in long, straight blond wigs and they fit right in also, don't they? Just an observation, not an accusation of anything.

BTW, when DT meets with Putin in Alaska (I didn't think Putin was welcome in my country), why doesn't DT mention one topic - Navalny.

Some of us are neither easily distracted nor forgetful.

Will the Epstein Events fade? Not soon, since Melania has threatened to sue Hunter Biden for a BILLION dollars for slander because he repeated what a whole lot of places have reported--that Epstein introduced her to trump. As a focus for the future, instead of distraction, Melania couldn't have chosen better. One has to wonder about the Freudian-slip underpinning of this threatened suit.
