Someone suggested that I just draw expressions in my live drawing. I love doing that, so this was fun. I hope you enjoy a moment of calm (with NYC noises here and there).
I learned early how so few lines can make an expression. Charles Shulz was a master at it, he could alter Snoopy’s mood with just one stroke! Genius.
You can express someone’s mood in the face and body posture. It helps transmit the idea, the humor, the story you want to tell. Like I said, drawing expressions is the cartoonist’s bread and butter.
I am doing these live things on my Youtube, follow me there to get notified when I go live if you want!
Very proud of the Colorado’s top court for deciding that Trump can’t be on the primary ballot in that state because he was involved in insurrectionist activities. My hope is this will hold as it goes to the US Supreme Court and then other states rule similarly. We shall see. I know he is raising money off of this decision, and it solidifies some of his support. But in the long run, this kind of decision is good.
Thanks for being here, I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday.
So glad to see this - am saving to watch when there’s a quiet moment here to watch. I think I missed your post the other day but caught sight of that snow-suited toddler. Made me laugh. I did that to my son as a 7 week old who had a milk allergy unbeknownst to me - when I started the switch to formula as I prepared to return to work and feared he had a respiratory infection. In May. I put the baby in his bunting - and fell in love with our new pediatrician when he burst out laughing.
This is great fun to watch! First, I thought it was mostly the mouth that indicated emotion, but then I realized how much the eyes (and eyebrows) conveyed personality, too. Oh, and hair!
