Thank you for this conversation with Steven. I totally agree that we should be talking about this and not putting our head in the sand. I think of John Lewis quote “Get in good trouble …. Keep moving” and also how important it is to stay close to family and friends and take good care of yourself. Thank you thank you. Suzanne Edney
Thanks you two, it’s really good to hear people that I like and trust discuss this mess of a “democracy “ that we have chosen. YES, we did this, maybe not you personally but enough voters supported tRump and cannot deny their responsibility in causing this attack on Democracy.
Thank you for such an honest conversation which, I am sure reflects so many of our own feelings of fatigue, but repulse to the lawlessness, and seeing the evident avalanche of news to make us feel submerged and powerless.
I am coming from a background of long studied buddhism, even though at times in a flimsy way. Still after so many years this has filled me with peace, somewhat, despite apparent cruelty of what goes on on Earth.
The essential trait I feel I retained, even if poorly, is that any of our actions, as negative as it looks, is always a longing for finding peace and essentially this unique love which is our common trait, I am sure.
Behind all that destruction Elon Musk is at work, there is still a search for happiness for himself, however misguided he is in his search.
To find peace, there is a blanket of love where we can retreat at the end of each day.
So there is this blanket, and then there is faith and hope.
Nothing that is apparently destroyed is not already in reconstruction. There is a constant search for balance in our Universe, And nothing that is negative is not immediately counterbalanced by love. It is important to remember this as we go on with whatever we decide to do, and act.
We have to follow our instinct and inner voice. It is so important.
Thanks for calling out the New York Times. I've cancelled my subscription a long time ago (along to my subscription to the WP). At this point, I get my news from you and Andy Borowitz and maybe the Guardian. What happened to journalistic integrity? Thanks for the work you do.
