Should I buy it? Then make it a writer’s retreat? Looks like a perfect place to hide from the world, armed only with a typewriter, a camp stove and kettle for making coffee every day… 🤔 I’ve done crazier things impulse!! I love Maine; the maternal side of my family is from Ft Kent and Millinocket.
As a photographer, this is the sort of scene that fascinates me. A bit of sleuthing turned up what iIthink is the property... 1.25 waterfront acres for $195,000! I'm in LA and this looks like a bargain!
I LOVE IT! Thank you! Wish I could buy it. Didn't know the larger building was part of the property, and that it was a hotel. Love that the little place was a post office.
It will likely get snatched up and turned into a “McMainson” 😕
And seems like Harris is meeting with Josh, Mark and Tim today - just flipping the names, as it’s an interesting thing to discuss / debate.
Kamala - seems quite likable / relatable; Harris - based on studies - seems quite capable / professional, etc. To all this, I say “Go Kamala Harris” 💙 and a terrific Mr VP.
Intriguing building Liza. They are scattered around fields, farms and villages next door in VT as well. Some are being rebuilt; others are returning to the soil.
Buildings near rivers and all bodies of water here in NE and across the continent/globe need to be apprised diligently. Many such buildings are washed out in my village and a half dozen sites in VT. Experts indicate we are in for more deep deep drenching. Mother Earth is moving water in new and impactful ways. Sorry to rain on global parades. The UN reminds us 100 million are in migration for water, food and safety
And, as activist Rebecca Solnit and others point out, there is also positive news: neighbors and non-neighbors from out of state are working together shovel by shovel, shoulder by shoulder. And some roads we are not rebuilding and will return the land to Mother Earth.
It is a time of profound change....may we rebuild with great care and respect for earth. A good time to learn from our indigenous elders. Maybe some sketches Liza? Thanks for all you offer so warmly and wisely.
Leaning buildings keep popping up for me this week. I just saw a post about the oldest tea shop in England, in Windsor. As a life long tea drinker (never coffee except a very sweet cappuccino after an excellent Italian meal in a restaurant) I wan to go! Where is this? I may have to see it before someone ruins it by ‘renovating’ it. I hope it has historic status of some kind. I am driving Downeast in early Sept. so maybe I can see it if it is not too far out of my way.
On a river...? Once a fishing shack?
Mainer friend called them “Camps”.
I'm praying she picks the strongest candidate, who'll aid her in riding the tsunami to the top. From my post to God's ears. "Love Shack?" Kidding.

Looks like move in condition.
A real turnkey operation.
Spoken like a true Vermonter.
An excellent give back project. The Liza Donnelly Gallery and Community Center.
Ha!!!! I like it...

Ask around! I’m so fascinated with abandoned buildings.

It’s not, but kind of looks like a very large tobacco barn.
